Abbreviations

ch(s) - chain(s)

st(s) - stitches

dc - double crochet

htr - half treble

tr - treble

dtr - double treble

inc – increase by working 2 stitches into stitch

2tog – work 2 stitches together

slst - slip stitch

Yellow, black and white wool

Crochet hook

Safety eyes

Stuffing

Tapestry needle

Scissors

To make the bee

Using yellow ch 4 stitches. Slst to make a ring

R1 : dc6 stitches into the centre of the ring (6 stitches)
R2 : dc inc into each stitch (12 stitches)
R3 : (dc, dc inc) repeat 6 times (18 stitches)
R4 : 18dc (18 stitches)
R5 : 18dc (18 stitches)

Change to black. Add the eyes and embroider mouth - see diagram.

R6 and R7 – Using black 18dc (18 stitches). On the last stitch of R7 change to yellow.

R8 - R11 : 18 dc (18 stitches). On the last stich of R11 change to black.

R12 : 18 dc (18 stitches)

Stuff the bee at this point.

R13 : (dc, dc 2tog) 6 times (12 stitches)

R14 : dc 2tog 6 times (6 stitches)

R15 : dc 2tog 3 times (3 stitches)

Fasten off

To make the wings 

Make 2 wings

Using white ch 4 stitches. Slst to make a circle.

R1 : dc into the centre of the ring, htr into the centre of the ring, tr into centre of the ring, dtr into the centre of the ring, tr into the centre of the ring, htr into the centre of the ring, dc into the centre of the ring, fasten off

To make up

 Attach the wings to the bee. Using black wool make two loops above the eyes.
